Push-ups built your front. What's building your back?
Most home workouts are push work: push-ups, presses, dips. Great for your chest. But the muscles that pull, your lats, upper back and biceps, get left behind, because there's nothing at home to hang from.
So your chest gets stronger and your back never gets a real workout. You can feel the gap the first time you try a pull-up.
The DoorBar closes it. Hook it up and every pull-up and chin-up puts your whole body weight to work, while hanging knee raises hit your core. A real at-home back and arm workout, no gym membership needed.
- The pull your routine is missingPull-ups, chin-ups and hanging knee raises, with floor push-ups and dips as a bonus.
- Off the door when you're doneLift it off after a session and tuck it away until next time.
- Solid steel, sure gripThickened 1.7 mm powder-coated steel with non-slip foam grips.
One bar. Six ways to train.
In the doorway or on the floor, the DoorBar works your back, arms, chest and core, and your grip works on every rep.

Pull-ups
Wide grip, full hang, chin over the bar. The classic move for your lats and upper back.
Chin-ups
Palms facing you. Same back work, with your biceps doing more of the pulling.
Hanging knee raises
Hang, brace and lift your knees toward your chest. Your abs and grip do the work.
Dead hangs
Just hang on with straight arms. It builds grip and is where your first pull-up starts.
Push-ups
Set the bar on the floor and push up from its foam handles instead of flat palms.
Dips
Sit in front of it, hands on the bar behind you, and dip to work the backs of your arms.
Up when you train. Down when you don't.
There's nothing to drill or bolt in: it hangs on the door frame by leverage.
- Check your doorwayYou need a standard-width opening with a solid frame and trim across the top for the bar to rest on.
- Hook it over the frameRest it over the top of the door frame and swing it down until it sits against the frame, with the foam pads in between.
- Test, then trainStart with a slow, controlled hang to check it's seated. Done for the day? Lift it off and put it away.
Your first pull-up starts with a hang
You're not behind, you just start a step earlier. Here's a simple path, one stage at a time. Move on when the current stage feels controlled.
Dead hangs
Hang with straight arms and a firm grip for as long as you can. Add a few seconds each week.
Slow negatives
Step up so your chin is over the bar, then lower yourself as slowly as you can.
Assisted reps
Keep a foot on a sturdy chair to take some weight off, and pull through the full range.
Your first full rep
When slow negatives feel strong, go for it. Then build from one rep to sets of them.
The DoorBar workout guide covers progressions like these, from dead hangs and assisted reps to L-sits, explosive reps and weighted pull-ups.

Clingman DoorBar FAQ
Will it fit my doorway?
It fits standard doorways from 24 to 32 inches wide. It rests on the top of the door frame, so the doorway needs a solid frame with trim across the top. Measure the width and check the frame and trim are sturdy before you order.
Will it mark my door frame?
There are no screws or holes. The bar rests on the top of the frame and presses against the trim, with foam pads in between to help protect the wood and paint. You can lift it off between sessions.
How much weight can it hold?
It's made from thickened 1.7 mm powder-coated steel and rated to 440 lbs. Stay under that limit, including any extra weight you add.
I can't do a pull-up yet. Is it for me?
Yes. Start with dead hangs, then slow negatives (lowering yourself from the top) and assisted reps with a foot on a chair. The DoorBar workout guide covers progressions like these.
What exercises can I do with it?
Pull-ups, chin-ups, dead hangs and hanging knee raises in the doorway. Take it down and use it on the floor for push-ups and dips. The guide adds core holds, L-sits and more advanced moves.
How do I set it up?
Rest it over the top of the door frame and swing it down until it sits against the frame. There's a short setup video on this page. Before each session, hang slowly first to check it's seated.
Can I take it down or travel with it?
Yes. It lifts straight off, so you can put it away, move it to another doorway or take it on a trip.
How fast is shipping?
Standard shipping is free on U.S. orders. Orders are processed within 24 to 48 hours, and U.S. orders can be expected to arrive in less than 10 business days. See our shipping policy.
What if it's not for me?
You're covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee. Email contact@clingman.co within 30 days of delivery, even if you've used it. Send it back in its original packaging with all parts (return shipping is on you) and we refund the full amount you paid for the item. Details are in our refund policy.
Your doorway is waiting
Picture the first time your chin clears the bar. It starts with one hang, at home, on your own schedule. Hang it the day it arrives and do your first set before the excuses show up.

Individual results vary and depend on consistency, training and nutrition. The Clingman DoorBar is fitness equipment, not a medical device. Use it only in a sturdy doorway 24 to 32 inches wide, check it's seated before each session, stay under the 440 lb limit and follow the setup steps on this page. If you have an injury or a health condition, talk to your doctor before starting a new exercise program.
